I am married to Bro. Bill, who is the BCM Director at NSU. I enjoy getting to work with my husband in the ministry, because I get to work with my best friend every day! I have been working at the BCM for over 30 years, and through the years, my name has shortened from Mrs. Phyllis to Mrs. P! I graduated from Louisiana College with a BS in Social Work and from Southwestern Seminary with a MA in Christian Social Ministries. Bill and I have two sons, Cole and Cordell, who just graduated from Texas A&M. We have a cat-dog named Tia who is a big scaredy cat of thunderstorms. We also have a cat named Pip. She doesn’t love attention, then she will demand your attention! She rounds out our family. I love to work outside in my flower beds, read books, and hike. A couple of my favorite things are daffodils and dragonflies and fleur de lis! 💜
Meet Phyllis
My heart for this ministry is to see college students come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Not stopping there, but allowing Christ to become the center of their life, so they embrace an "it's not about me, it's about Him" mentality. So when the tough times come, and boy will they come, they pull up their bootstraps and see where God is directing them in their next adventure. Bro. Bill and I have a mom-and-pop ministry mindset with the BCM and complement each other in the different areas where God has gifted us. My mantra, so to speak, comes from the Fruits of the Spirit that you can find in Galatians 5:22-23, "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Also, John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave." What have you given today for the Kingdom of God? I love y'all and can't wait to meet each of you! Come to NSU! It's a great place and get involved in the ministry here at the BCM!
