My name is Jenna Pottmeyer, and I have the privilege of serving as the BCM’s vice president of external affairs!
As Christians, we often face persecution and become fearful of sharing the Gospel. Something we easily forget, though, is that we may be the only exposure to the Gospel that the people on this campus ever get. Have you ever met someone who has not heard the name of Jesus? You will on this campus. The Lord is very clear about His calling on us to proclaim the Gospel, and in 2 Timothy Paul calls to “fan into flame the gift of God.” Yes, it is scary, but thankfully the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7)! In Acts 28:31, it says “He proclaimed the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ - with all boldness and without hinderance!” Your comfort may be at stake, but so is someone’s life. I pray that we, as a BCM and a family of God, will all be bold in our “external affairs.”
I am a junior Elementary Education Major, and I am also minoring in history! I love to sing, tell punny jokes, explore Natchitoches, and eat sludge! I am involved with many organizations on campus, but the BCM is where my heart is. I love love loveeee all things Jesus-related, so obviously I love this organization, and I am beyond excited about serving on leadership this year! I cannot wait to meet y’all and watch what the Lord does in and through us this semester! :)
